Locations – Morganstown, The Garth

Distance – 7 miles

Elevation – 1014 feet

A forest path with bright green wild garlic on the edges

Today’s run was a quick blast up the Garth after work. Unfortunately the fine weather turned into fine rain but it felt good to be out.

There were some cows in the field as I headed into Pentyrch who seemed interested in me. it must’ve been the bright shoes!

I chose my regular route and hit the trig first before heading down the eastern side and through the woods. I hadn’t seen any damage from the wildfires and assumed it must’ve been on the other side but as I dropped down I could see the blackened hillside.

It was quite a shock to see the damage up close. It’s right next to the footpath and some of the signage has been destroyed too.
