#CardiffTrails
I’ve been sharing my trail runs on Instagram for a while but I always wanted to publish them on their own site.
My typical runs are between three and thirteen miles. I run from home around the hills of North Cardiff.
I do the occasional road run into the city centre but I don’t log these runs.

I wanted to run further today but I was short on time. It looked parched on the Garth but was soggy underfoot.

Some gentle miles by the canal this morning.

The sun’s back, but it wasn’t too warm. I enjoyed the views from Garth and took it easy today.

It finally happened. It rained. And it was glorious.

The Taff Trail was full of road runners this morning. The forest and trails were busy as well with families and dog walkers. The temperature has dropped a few degrees and I’m hoping we get some rain soon.

14 August 2026
It’s supposed to be cooling after another hot one yesterday. It was still warm at 9am and the River Taff is really low.

It didn’t feel too hot today but I really felt it. I drank way more water than normal. I stayed in the shade for most of the run and saw about 7 sausage dogs!

5 August 2026
I went out too fast as I was on the flat. I managed to keep it up though. Not for me!

3 August 2026
Six loops of the Castell Coch Hill this lunchtime.

1 August 2026
After the terrible flooding in Gwaelod-y-Garth this week, I headed east and into the shade of the Wenallt.
