This is my 6th pair of Peregrines from Saucony. I saw them recently described as an “all-rounder” and I agree with this take. They’re good at everything without excelling in one area.
I’m getting into the habit of buying a new pair in November when they normally come down in price. I picked up the “Citron | Oak” colour for a very reasonable £81 (RRP £135).

This is a very early impressions post after 32 miles. I’m not going to write any more full reviews as the shoes are often old and not widely available.
Style
Having recently bought a white pair of shoes because that was the only colour available, I was delighted to get this vibrant, luminous yellow pair. I absolutely love them!
Again, reviews from my kids included, “eurgh”, “yuck”, “really?” and “please don’t go out in them!”. They’re wrong, these are beautiful.
Likes
The upper on this new version is so soft. It’s like sliding your feet into a comfy pair of slippers. There’s still a stiffened toe box for protection and the outer feels sturdy.
I considered recently whether bright shoes help with trail running. Because they’re so bright I can see them in my peripheral vision and I get a sense of where my feet are. Helpful when avoiding roots in Garth Woods.
Dislikes
I have one big issue. I described the upper like a comfy slipper but I’d compare the heel to a formal dress shoe. It’s really stiff and feels very uncomfortable. I’m really hoping they soften as I bed them in.
Summary
Assuming the heels soften over time, I’m really happy with the Peregrine 14s. I used my 13s over winter because I was coming off the Torrent 3s which had traction issues. I used the the Merrell Agility Peak 5s this winter so the 14s are going to be a summer shoe.
If you can pick them up on sale and just want a good all-rounder, I can recommend the Peregrine 14s.
