Locations – Morganstown, The Garth

Distance – 7 miles

Elevation – 716 feet

A forest path that splits into two

I’ve had a few days off since the Pentyrch Hill Race, apart from a short road run. I was pretty pleased with my performance considering I’m getting on a bit. My pace was a bit slower than previous years, which surprised me as it was a shorter route this year.

I was planning to enter my first marathon this year so recent training has been distance over speed so perhaps my preparation wasn’t ideal. I’m still struggling to run fast downhill, I lost quite a few places coming down the Garth.

Today’s run was a quick blast up the Garth but then along Route Des Alpes rather up to the top. The woods in Morganstown are still looking stunning.
