Just a few miles up in the forest to get out of the house today.

The sculptures by Simon O’Rourke were unveiled six years ago this month. I spotted them being installed and spoke to Simon.

I wrote about them again in 2020 when the colour of the wood had changed from pink to a rich brown. Simon kindly shared his original sketches.

Over time, the sculptures have weathered beautifully but some have suffered damage and the poems have deteriorated. I created some illustrations that try to reproduce them.
