Runners and sheep on a footpath

I’ve had a bit of a break from running this week. I’d love to say it was family or work commitments but I was just feeling a bit lazy. I did a walk or short ride every day but these were very brief.

My plan today was 17 miles without worrying about heart rate. I didn’t go over the top but I ran on the flat bits.

I don’t go out very often on a Sunday mornings but it turns out everyone else does! I saw about 20 runners in the first mile. I saw a CDF Runner and a Running Punk.

The last couple of miles were harder than my last long run. My legs were feeling a bit tight and heavy. I also felt a little bit of discomfort on my toes which is very rare. If I’m going to continue doing these long runs I probably need to invest in some better socks.

Nearly forgot to mention the photo… These sheep decided to join the runners ahead for a few yards. They were doing a decent pace!
