Locations – Coed y Wenallt, Fforest Ganol
Distance – 7 miles
Elevation – 1045 feet

After Sunday’s long run, last night’s downpour and the forecast for the Easter holidays, I’d written off this week. I was very surprised then to see the sun come out this afternoon, so I grabbed my Long Sky 2s and hit the trails.
My plan for this summer is to explore the Wenallt as much as possible so I headed up through Fforest Ganol and chose a route. I tried sticking to the outer edge as much as possible and ended up doing a really nice route. I was surprised to hit 1,000 feet in just 7 miles.
The woods were pretty quiet too, I only spotted a couple of dog walkers and a hiker. The bluebells are out but this lone blossom tree caught my eye.
