Locations – Coed y Gedrys, Fforest Fawr
Distance – 18 miles
Elevation – 1970 feet

That was my longest ever run! I’ve been gradually increasing the distance and it was interesting to see how my body coped.
I was still feeling strong at 13 miles and had plenty of energy left. I had a few niggles but stopping for a walk helped to alleviate these. I’d noticed some discomfort in my calf on recent runs but this felt fine today.
The other big issue was my Peregrine 13s and the pain they cause on the top of my foot. I think I’ve perfected the exact tightness of the laces which keep my shoe on but don’t rub. Thankfully I got it right today and they felt fine.
Today’s photo is the view from Coed y Gedrys in Llantwit Fardre. It’s about a mile from the Garth and has lovely views down the valley.
It was a bit overcast with spots of blue sky. Then it chucked it down for the last mile!
