Locations – Craig yr Allt, Fforest Fawr
Distance – 13.2 miles
Elevation – 1636 feet

After last weekend’s 20 miler I planned to do a shorter run today. I set out thinking I’d do 10 miles but I felt good so managed a half marathon.
I set off down the Taff Trail and took the opportunity to go a bit quicker on the tarmac. I decided to head through the golf course and stuck to the tarmac again rather than the fields. I eventually worked my way back over to Tongwynlais and set my sights on Craig yr Allt.
It was dry but cloudy today so I grabbed a quick photo and descended to Fforest Fawr. Despite taking the hills very slowly I was doing a good time so I planned a route to finish on 13 miles and hit the gas again.
I learned a valuable lesson today. I packed a few jelly babies and just one gel so by mile 11 I could feel a lack of energy and wished I had another with me. In future, I’ll take more than I think I need.
My route planning was impressive today, finishing at my door on 13.2 miles.
