Today’s run was powered by stress and frustration. I feel better after blasting up the Taff Trail and powering down through the forest on my favourite segment. My original plan was to head up Craig yr Allt but I realised I wouldn’t have time so I adjusted the route to finish on time. I’ve done…

Early run for me! No coffee so felt tired, heavy and slow. The Glamorganshire Canal was bustling this morning. I went down the old railway track again and back up through Whitchurch and across Coryton.

To celebrate Global Running Day I went for a run! I warmed up with a couple of miles on the Taff Trail then headed up to Castell Coch and back down through Fforest Fawr. I stopped briefly to enjoy the view up the valley.

Just a short run down the Taff Trail before work this morning. Stopped to grab a photo of the “forest man”. I haven’t been past here for a while and I’d forgotten what a great sculpture it is! I wish I had more time as it was lovely out this morning.

Today’s run was a flat mix of tarmac and trails. I took a slightly different route and ran down the old railway line towards the Hollybush Estate. I need to get in the habit of running more regularly. These shorter midweek runs help me get away from the desk but I can find excuses too…

I’ve bought a new head torch since last week and really needed the extra light on the trickier sections. There were…

I only had a small window to get out today so I headed down the Glamorganshire Canal. Apart from the technical section on the upper trail, most of today’s run was flat. I do very little road running so when I’m on the Taff Trail I up the speed a bit. It was colder out…

1 December 2023
We’ve had a bit of a cold snap in South Wales. I put my gloves on, pulled a buff over my ears and headed out. The amount of frost and ice increased as I headed up the Taff Trail and over Craig yr Allt. It was beautiful and peaceful on the summit. I only saw…

29 September 2023
After the exhilaration of a wet, windy, muddy, night time adventure on the Garth with a bunch of Punks, today’s run was the complete opposite. I enjoyed a dry, bright solo run up Craig yr Allt with nothing but my own thoughts and some jelly babies. Which is better? They’re both brilliant! I’ve loved the…
